Local Information

Welcome to our branch website. UNISON represents 450 staff in NHS Western Isles, including nurses, AHPs, health care assistants, admin staff, porters, ambulance staff, estates staff. We negotiate for better pay and conditions, help individuals in trouble and campaign for a safer, fairer society.

UNISON is Britain's biggest union, representing almost 1.3 million people across the UK's public services.

Local News

There are currently a couple of vacancies on the local branch committee which urgently need filling. We require a recruitment officer. Please get in touch with any branch officers if you feel you could fill one of these posts.

BRANCH AGM - 28 March at 3.00 pm, Western Isles Hospital. Please come along and hear our guest speakers—UNISON Scottish Health Committee Chair Tom Waterson and UNISON National Secretary for Health Christina McAnea - who can answer any questions you might have on any issues. We are having a free raffle with some nice prizes to give away, tea and coffee also available
